Tips for 7/4/13

Leac An Scail is todays Nap Only a couple of tips today and all risky, but i have my reasons for choosing them. 3:10 Hexham - Leac An Scail 11/2 (bet365) Oldest horse in the race, but he likes it here. stats over course is UR, 2, 3, 1**, 1, 1 (** 2 classes better) Over C&D it is 1. His only run over hurdles at Hexham and he won it by 26L on heavy. The rest of the runs were over fences. He is 15lb higher in the handicap now but he has won off a rating of 118 over fences here. His rider Samantha Drake claims 7lb and she has ridden him to 2 of his 3 victories here (he has won 5). This drying ground should help his chances too. My worries are Chovoy, One For Harry and War On. All i think are proven over soft - heavy and are unknowns on this drier ground, where as Leac An Scail goes on most ground. If Leac An Scail drifts then i recommend e/w but at this price it will be for a win, i do recommend small stakes, as this is risky Sunday racing, and normally i stay away. My

I do put a lot of effort into them but i have been so busy, it was hard to fit everything in. So i am sorry if you have followed and been let down. I hope to make it up to you today though. I have spent a long time looking at this race and i feel sure i have found something. Now obviously it depends on the horse, but if i am right he should go

The Novice Tipster - Grand National Preview 2013

The Grand National Preview. 1.   Imperial Commander – Top weight and former Gold Cup winner, had been off the track for 2 years because of injury, but came back in impressive style when a gallant 2 nd to Cape Tribulation in the Grade 2 Argento Chase, he was favourite for the Gold Cup when a bug hit the yard and he got a lung infection. So he has come here without another run, but this horse has a lot of class and cannot be dismissed. Sam Twiston- Davies takes the ride for the first time, and he wouldn’t want the ground too soft. The odds look a little stacked against him, but his class alone could get him round, and he could be the first horse to do win the Gold Cup and the National since L’Escargot in the 70’s. **** 2. What A Friend – I have to admit to not fancying his chances. He has been over the fences 3 times now. He won The Silver Bowl 3 years ago and the fell at the 2 nd in 2011, he then came back to the Silver Bowl and came 7 th . It’s not the stables 1

Straight From The Horses Mouth Grand National Join Together -   “Join Together would be one of the leading chances. He has been trained just for the race. He ran really well in the Becher Chase at Aintree. We haven’t run him all winter while the ground has been bad. “We followed the same route in a lot of ways as we did when training Neptune last year. He has been around the course and he has got a bit of class. We want to give him a big shot.” Paul Nicholls What A Friend – “What A Friend is a good horse and he ran well in the Gold Cup that year he won (the Bowl) at Aintree. But when he ran in the National two years ago you can put a line through it. He had had a very hard race in the Gold Cup when he was fourth – probably a career best – and horses that have a hard race there don’t run particularly well at Aintree. And in hindsight it was probably a mistake to run him. “If we can get him really fresh and he runs nicely he is definitely a player in the race because he ha

Forgotton Voice   - “A good and fast horse on the flat and will like decent ground. Missed Cheltenham because Aintree was always going to suit him better and so will the ground in the Top Novices Hurdle.” NH Free Thinking “She didn’t like the heavy ground at Sandown when she was third last time. She’ll be much better in the Mares’ bumper on better going.” NH Khyber Kim “It’s being discussed which is the right trip for him, either two and a half on Friday or the three mile handicap hurdle on Thursday. He’s come out of Cheltenham well and he’ll definitely run in one of them.” NH Minella Forfitness “I’m keen to get him into the 2m 4f handicap hurdle on Friday. He’s not badly treated, likes decent ground and has a turn of pace over the trip and is improving.” NH My Tent Or Yours “Has come out of his Cheltenham exertions well, very well in fact, and runs in the Top Novices’ Hurdle on Friday.” NH Punjabi “He’s not what he was but likes decent ground and will take his chan

Anquetta He’s going to get his ground in the Red Rum Handicap so I’d expect him to show his best form for a while. Ground is very important to him.” Nicky Henderson Captain Conan “Has come out of Cheltenham well. It was a good performance to be beaten under five lengths in the Jewson at Cheltenham and the Manifesto over two and a half might work well for him. He performed very well at Aintree over hurdles on good ground a year ago.” NH Ericht “I think he’ll stay three miles in the Silver Cross Handicap Hurdle because he will get the better ground, which is vital to him.” NH Grandouet “He’ll definitely run in the Aintree Hurdle and will be a very serious player. He was most unfortunate to fall in the Champion but that meant he didn’t have a hard race and the nicer ground at Aintree is going to suit him.”NH Kid Cassidy “Ran exceptionally well to finish second to Alderwood at Cheltenham, should be fine over two miles in the Red Rum and decent ground isn’t against him.
