Striaght From The Trainers Mouth 6/6/13 Grand National

Straight From The Horses Mouth Grand National Join Together -   “Join Together would be one of the leading chances. He has been trained just for the race. He ran really well in the Becher Chase at Aintree. We haven’t run him all winter while the ground has been bad. “We followed the same route in a lot of ways as we did when training Neptune last year. He has been around the course and he has got a bit of class. We want to give him a big shot.” Paul Nicholls What A Friend – “What A Friend is a good horse and he ran well in the Gold Cup that year he won (the Bowl) at Aintree. But when he ran in the National two years ago you can put a line through it. He had had a very hard race in the Gold Cup when he was fourth – probably a career best – and horses that have a hard race there don’t run particularly well at Aintree. And in hindsight it was probably a mistake to run him. “If we can get him really fresh and he runs nicely he is definitely a player in the race because h...

Day 3 Straight From The Trainers Mouth

Straight From The Trainers Mouth Day 3 Cheltenham 13:30 Jewson Novice Chase Captain Conan – I like Captain Conan and he is most likely to run in this race. He didn’t travel or jump at Sandown but I expect him to improve; he’s working well and the distance is perfect for him. – Barry Geraghty Captain Conan Goes for the Jewson. I know he wasn't impressive at Sandown but he's in tremendous form. I'd be very happy. He's squealing. He's going to start work again this week.- Nicky Henderson Aupcharlie – Aupcharlie is much improved this season. Trip will suit him, Nature of race will suit him but all depends on whether Dynaste , who I think is the best novice, runs or not. Maybe Marito at a big price e/w might run well.- Ruby Walsh Changing Times –   We’ve got a nice new one called Changing Times, who has just arrived from Ireland. He’ll get in one of the handicaps and he looks quite good. He looks a smashing sort. My slight worry wo...

Straight From The Trainers Mouth 13/3/13

Straight From The Trainers Mouth Day 2 Cheltenham 13:30 John Oaksey National Hunt Chase Merry   King – He jumps grand for a novice and settles well. We don’t know if he’ll get four miles and he is also in the Kim Muir but I think he’d be a really good ride in the four-miler. – Jonjo O’Neill Drawn N Drank – think I'm riding Drawn N Drank for Enda Bolger in the four-miler (John Oaksey National Hunt Chase), if he gets in," said McNamara. "Enda quite likes him but he's not certain to get in just yet. If he doesn't get in I'd imagine I'll be riding one for Jonjo (O'Neill). – JP McNamara Godsmejudge - “I’m very happy with the horse,” said King. “I think he’s one of my best chances.” Alan King Back In Focus - Back In Focus stays all day. He has the same owner as Boston Bob and they won't go for the same race. Back In Focus could go for either the four-miler or the RSA – Willie Mullins Rival D’Estruval – He's on ...
