Coral Cup 1st Kateira 6/1 - 50 1st The Yellow Clay 15/2 - 50 2nd Intense Approach 50/1 - 35   Quick write up again. The first 2 here as you can see are clear of the others! Kateira ticks a lot of boxes, she will like the ground the trip. The biggest question mark is the track, in theory she should like it, but she has never been on a track as testing as this.  The Yellow Clay has placed over C&D when 2nd in the Turners last year, obviously that was a Grade 1. This is the easiest race he has competed in, for a long time. He is definitely a Grade horse in handicap company. With the cheekpieces applied id be very interested in him. He does have top weight here, but his jockey claims 5lb which helps. Ground and trip are fine. Dont discount him or Gordon Elliott.  Intense Approach another Irish contender at big odds and is a reserve so possibly wont run. Ground, trip and track shouldnt be an issue. He would be interesting if running.  I think The Yellow Clay an...

1st Langer Dan 7/1 - 70 1st Rambo T 33/1 - 70 2nd Brazil 14/1 - 50 2nd Da Capo Glory 33/1 - 50 2nd Beacon Edge 40/1 - 50   As you can see this is really close! Mark Of Gold and First Street come 3rd scoring 45 points.  Langar Dan  won this last year, so that really does help his stats, he is back on the same mark as that win. We know the track, distance and ground is fine. He does carry 4lb more though, but he can run really well again Rambo T actually stood out for me i was suprised about the price. His stats on soft are UR, 1, 1. He has only been to Cheltenham once over 1f shorter and came 3rd. That was on good ground and it looks like he will prefer softer ground. He could go well.  Brazil is a Boodles winner so we know the track will suit. His recent for has been a lot to be desired, but could be to get his mark down. He might go ok Da Capo Glory has cheekpieces fitted for the first time. Distance and going will be no issue here, however and its a little n...

1st Off Your Rocco 50/1 - 50 2nd Fil D'or 14/1 - 45 2nd HMS Seahorse 8/1 - 45 2nd Run For Oscar 7/1 - 45 3rd Camprond 13/2 - 40 As you can see this handicap is very tight. I had no clue going into this race so i am glad this will make it clearer.  Off Your Rocco i was shocked to see was 50/1 but as some firms paying 7 places its surely worth a go? He was 4th here in November in the Ballymore Trial, he wasnt beaten too far and the winner Blazing Khal is favourite for the Stayers Hurdle, in fact the 3 horses who finished in front of him have all won since including a Grade 1 and a Grade 2. He carried top weight here against horses rated 148 and more now. Gordon Elliot has been shrewd by running him twice after that but over shorter distances and he is 5lb lower. I am unsure to what ground he would like but he has won of soft over 2m 5f and it was a Listed race. Gordon Elliott won this last year with 50/1 Commander Of Fleet, can he do it again? Fil D'or is another of Gordons ma...

1st The Shunter 10/1 - 70 2nd McFabulous 16/1 - 65 3rd Unexpected Party 10/1 - 40 The Shunter won here last year in the Plate over C&D on this going but over fences, he comes back over hurdles here and i can see why because he is rated 153 over fences but over hurldes he comes here off 148. He was only beaten 1 length in a Grade 2 over hurdles last time they went over hurdles. The winner and 2nd have since been knocking on Grade 1 doors both winning Grade 2 & 3 races,so no reason why The Shunter couldnt go very well here. He is 2/2 at Cheltenham including over this distance both on this ground, his Hurdles win was the Greatwood Hurdle. He has big claims McFabulous wears cheekpieces for the first time, he goes well fresh as he was 2nd in the Grade 2 Relkeel Hurdle on New Years Day, beaten by the Classy Stormey Island, he came back last time over 3m and i just wonder if thats too fast for him as he, although has run well hasnt won over 3m, over this distance is perfect. We ...

1st Burrows Edge 16/1 - 50 2nd Eglantine Du Seuil 16/1 - 40 2nd Golan Fortune 66/1 - 40 3rd Protektorat 14/1 - 35 3rd Dame De Compagnie 6/1 - 35 3rd Birchdale 16/1 - 35 3rd Honest Vic 33/1 - 35 A very tough race. I am hoping that the winner is one of these above, but with a race like this, anything can happen. Burrows Edge comes in at a very low weight here. He won the Lanzarote by 9L last time out, and the ground and distance is perfect for him. Up 6lb for his last win, and has cheekpieces on today, not sure why. My only concern is that he hasnt run on a course like Cheltenham. Eglantine Du Seuil has won at Cheltenham and is one of only 2 runs, its strange because she is never beaten far but keeps getting beat. She has been placed in Grade 1 and 2 races, but when dropped to Listed, she still cannot seem to get her head in front. I wonder if she wants firmer ground, she certainly has a good ew chance Golan Fortune probably needs to find a bit extra on some of these, bu...
