1st Zarkander 20/1 - 70 2nd The World's End 9/2 - 65 3rd Le Rocher 9/1 - 50 This as expected is very competitive, what is not so expected is that Zarkander has come top, on old form then he would have every chance, but is he the same horse? Zarkanders stats on Heavy are 1, 1, 2.  all 3 were Grade 2 races. He won the Rendlesham (G2) in Febuary, although the ground was completely different to today. That form alone would put him in with a chance. Stats suggest this type of track suits him better. And Zarkander is a horse who goes very well fresh, with stats of 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, UR, 1. he comes here after a nice break, and 20/1 could be a cracking ew price. The World's End is favourite, because of his win in the Novice Hurdle (G1) at Aintree, but to be honest, i am not sure what he beat. The 2 main horses in that race haven't raced since. He has however asked everything which has been asked for him. The going though is an unknown and he also comes back from a break,

1st Emperor's Choice 9/2 - 100 2nd Courtown Oscar 2/1 - 55 3rd Belmount 7/1 - 45 What a race this will be, not only is it full of some old favourites, its also going to be a slog in the mud. The horse with the biggest heart will win this, and we know there are several in here who run their heart's out each and everytime. I am excited to watch this one. Emperor's Choice came top here by quite a bit. There is no surprise as his stats on heavy are 3, 2, 1, 1, 1, 6,  1, 2, 1, PU.  He is 8lb lower than his last win, which happened to be over C&D 2 years ago, so he is certianly handicapped to win this. It was also after 11 months off the track, so his recent break would not be much of a worry, however he is 10 now (nearly 11) and 2 years is a long time. He does ok at Haydock with stats of PU, 2, 2, 1. So we know the going and track with not be an issue. 12.40 Haydock Courtown Oscar 5/2 This horse has won 7 times. 5 of those wins have come on heavy ground, his stats on heavy are 5, 7, 1, 1, PU, 3, 1, 1, 2, 1. Is you take distance into account and look at his stats at 3m 1f + then it’s 1, 1, 2, 1. What I like is the way he won his last race after a break. He tends to need the run, but he won this time, on Heavy Ground just over 3m 2f. the 6 th , 9 th and 10 th Placed horses are the only other ones with CO who were having their Seasonal Debuts. So he beat losts of race fit horses in very testing conditions. He is up 5lb for that win, which looks fair, and he hasn’t won off this high a mark before but as long as he has come one for that run then he has everything to suit here. Also his previous race, there has been 5 runs since (2 nd , 3 rd , 4 th and 10 th ) 4 have placed including the 10 th placed horse.

5:10 Newcastle Takeonefortheteam 6/1 Although it's a Novice and i hate posting up a horse who has only had 1 run, but this was too good to pass. Debut speeds are good, which is always nice. Came 4th or 9 runners, looking at that now it was a solid run. Every runner in that race had a previous run except, Takeonefortheteam, Red Cymbal (3rd) Towlerads Boy (6th) and Scots Snap (9th) and all 3 have since run again, with Red Cymbal and Towerlads Boy have both gone on to win their next races. Can Takeonefortheteam make it a treble? Its very solid form and although this is a tough race, 6/1 and best speeds look good for me.
