1st Coneygree 18/1 - 95 2nd American 13/2 - 60 3rd Whisper 8/1 - 55 4th Missed Approach 25/1 - 45 Not really a surprise that Coneygree topped this, i don't really need to say to much, if back to his best he would be able to defy top weight and romp home. He won the Grade 2 Denman Chase here back in 2015, this race is 'easier' than that was, but he was at his peak then  after that race he went on to win the Gold Cup. If he can recapture the form of the Punchestown Gold Cup form earlier this year then, this horse will win, but there are a lot of If's. I love this boy and i hope to see him win, he has never raced in a Grade 3 before. And 18/1 is actually an insulting price. Luckily it's not sunny today. American is my ante post bet here, so i am glad to see him heading the rest of the best stats.  Newbury 1:50 Air Horse One 7/2 & 2:25 High Bridge 3/1 Their last race really does intrigue me greatly. Both on their seasonal debuts, they came 4th and 3rd respectively. I will start with the race, it was the William Hill Handicap Hurdle (Listed) with prize money of over £34000, so a good strong race of 13 runners. The 1st and 2nd home had both had runs already this season and Air Horse One and High Bridge both probably needed the race. So what's special about the race? The 1st, 2nd, 5th and 10th have all gone on to win their next race. Elgin won a Grade 3 next time out. The 7th ad 8th have also gone on to place in thier next races. That's exceptional form. Both horses were beaten 2L by Elgin, who as i say was race fit. Elgin's next race he beat a race fit Old Guard by nearly 5L. 1st Maestro Royal 12/1 - 80 2nd Air Horse One 7/2 - 65 3rd Old Guard 6/1 - 60 Maestro Royal probably doesn't want the ground to dry out any more than this, there is a little rain forecast an hour before the race, so should keep it nice and wet out there. If looking at form on Good-soft and Soft then his stats are not too bad 2, 1, 7, 1, 7, 1. He ran well on his seasonal debut and in a race of 7, 4 of them were race fit and 2 filled the top 3 positions. He came 4th that day. He is now fit and should have a good chance with luck in running. He has won and placed at Newbury in 2 races. And the type of track Newbury is, suits him well. Air Horse One also ran a cracker on debut in fact it was probably a better run than Maestro Royal's debut. I won't go into that too much as i will be writing a piece in another post. 1st Potters Point 16/1 - 90 2nd Acapella Bourgeois 11/4 - 80 3rd Last Goodbye 25/1 - 40 3rd Icantsay 25/1 - 40 Amazingly this system is saying it's a 2 horse race. Which i cannot see myself, but i like the results of this anyway. Some bookies are paying 5 places so its worth a looking at the bigger prices. Potters Point won the Kerry National 2 races ago then came back with a big drop in distance and not going as well. This step up in distance is positive and Lisa O'Neill is in the form of her life. So i am more than happy to stick with her and Potter's Point. Acapella Bourgeois won a Novice chase here of C&D by an impressive 32L, that puts him in this with a massive chance. Ignore his recent runs as i think he needs to softer ground and he hasn't had that. He does have a big weight to carry though. Last Goodbye and Icantsay both want this going and both have a very low weight, which is brilliant. Icantsay will relish the distance. My Selection: Pott
