  1st Largy Poet 5/1 - 55 2nd Art Decco 11/2 - 50 3rd Jubilee Express 11/4 - 45 3rd Gold Clermont 12/1 - 45   As you can see, this race is extremely close.  Largy Poet just pipped it in the stats, which is a worry as he is top weight, luckily Paul Nicholls has employed the services of the very useful Freddie Keighley who claims a valuable 7lb. He is 2/2 at Exeter so thats a positive, he also won on heavy here which is helpful seeing as the conditions will be testing. His stats on heavy are 1, 1, 2. There are a lot of boxes ticked here, except this distance, but he looks like he needs a big stamina a test. The addition of blinkers for the first time is notable.   Art Decco won this last year, so we know conditions and distance are fine, along with the course. The biggest worry is that he is 6lb higher however, with Largy Poet in here, Art Decco gets to carry 1lb less than he did last year. Don't rule him out!   1st Moroder 20/1 - 70 2nd Puddlesinthepark 15/2 - 60 3rd Art Decco 5/1 - 50   Looking at Art Decco first as he was 2nd in this last year off 4lb lower, and he won over C&D in Feburary off the same mark. He will want the rain to fall here and the softer the better, he is a real mudlark. I also noticed that he seems to need his run back after a break with his stats being 7, 3, 2, 6. The 2 was in this race, and the 6 was back in October this year, so hopefully we will see an improved performance. He can run well here.  Puddlesinthepark seems quite versatile ground wise. My concern with him is the track, he has run at Exeter before and was well beaten, i'd normally not worry too much but his other stats point towards him being a much better horse going left handed and on flatter tracks, in 7 attempts on undulating tracks he has never won, although placed twice.   1st Golden Sovereign 12/1 - 55 2nd Foxboro 6/1 - 50 Take Your Time, Robyndzone, and Track And Trace all scored 40. This is so close but Golden Sovereign edges this especially if it gets softer and turns heavy.  Golden Sovereign met Foxboro and Lyrical Genius over C&D in December. He is now 12lb better off than Foxboro and 4lb better of with Lyrical Genius. He was well beaten that day but possibly the heavier going will suit him better than the other. Cheekpieces may help. Foxboro obviously beat the other 2 over C&D on soft so his credentials are there. He is up 4lb since that win. He has won on soft but not on heavy.  A lot of these are untested on heavy over these kinds of distances, so its hard to work out in the system, but i thought i would try anyway. Mr Vango looks like a good stayer, not sure if the rain coming will help. My Selection: Golden Sovereign SP
