Henbit 1980's Derby - Won With Broken Leg

thought you might want to see this clip of Henbit winning the 1980's Derby. Broke a bone in his off Hoof onn the straight, and stayed on strongly by changing his lead leg. I have never seen the clip before, but what an amazing horse http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eieYWhf8NA

Does Camelot Have A Disadvantage?

Is Camelot at a disadvantage with Joseph O'Brien on board?, i think maybe he is. Although there are only 9 runners in the race, the only way Camelot will win is, if he is good enough, because i really am not sure Joseph will help too much up there.  I have had a look at a couple of his recent G1 races 6 of them in total, 2 of the races he has won 2000gns with Camelot 13/8f and the Irish 2000gns on Power who won at 5/1. The other races have been unusual the 1000 gns. He was on board Maybe who was 13/8f, and although i have strong views on that race, Maybe only managed 3rd, and was beaten by stable mate Homecoming Queen who was 25/1 Yesterdays Oaks, he was riding Maybe again who was 10/3, and she managed 5th while her stable mate Was, won at 20/1. The Irish 1000 gns he was on the English 1000gns winner Homecoming Queen, who on paper, should of won this race, but she only managed 4th that day, her stablemate Ishvana managed a much more credible 2nd at 33/1, But the race that really m

Straight From The Horses’ Mouth Derby Day Richard Fahey 16:00 Epsom – Mickdaam 33/1 I'd say he definitely has an each-way chance as he's guaranteed to stay, guaranteed to like the ground and he's such a well-balanced horse I imagine he'll handle the idiosyncrasies of Epsom too. 14:05 Epsom - Euxton Hall SP I presume he's the one they've all got to beat, I just hope he handles the track. You don't know until you try and run there but we feel that he'll handle it well. He was very impressive first time out and the second has won by six lengths at Windsor since. He did everything really professionally first time but a run always does them good and he'll improve plenty for that. I'm happy with him. He's a cracking horse. 15:15 Epsom - Arctic Feeling 16/1 & Jamesway 14/1 We've got two good draws in the Investec Specialist Bank 'Dash ' with Arctic Feeling in 17 and Jamesway next door in 18, it's good to

Straight From The Horses’ Mouth 1/6/12 Godolphin Mahmood Al Zarooni 16:05 Epson   - Kailani 9/1 Kailani has done nothing wrong in both her starts to date and we decided to take a chance by running her in the Investec Oaks. She worked really well on Friday and I think that she has improved since her run at Newmarket. We were quite easy on our horses at the beginning of the season and a lot of them have come on for their first start. She won her maiden on good ground but we cannot say 100 per cent whether she will handle good to firm until we run her on it. It’s the same with her handling the course, although I expect that the step up to a mile and a half will suit her. We don’t know how good she is and we are waiting for her to surprise us Micheal Bell 14:15 Epsom - Creme Anglaise CRÈME ANGLAISE taking her chance at Epsom. Dropped back into handicap class after two thirds in listed contests she should hopefully be on her game and go close 15:45 Newcastle – Bit

Godolphin Mahmood Al Zarooni 19:20 Sandown – Opinion Poll 13/8 Opinion Poll worked well on Sunday and he showed that he is in good form, His main aim is the Gold Cup (at Ascot on June 21) but I think that he will run a good race at Sandown. He is very professional nowadays. He is also very relaxed in everything that he does. I am very happy with him. Saeed bin Suroor 19:20 Sandown -  Ley Hunter 8/1 Ley Hunter is doing well at the moment. I have been pleased with his work and he is ready to run 19:55 Sandown - Hunter’s Light 9/1 Hunter’s Light looks a better horse this year physically and I have been happy with him recently. He didn’t handle the course at Chester and Sandown should suit him better. Brian Meehan 19:20 Sandown -  Aaim To Prosper 25/1 Our 2010 Cesarewitch hero is now entrenched as a group-race performer. Fourth in this last year, he was nosed out of a Listed race over course and distance in July before finishing close in the Goodwood Cup.

Straight From The Horses’ Mouth Mark Usher 16:30 Newton Abbot – Hope Point 18/1 The race looks quite competitive but she is well and should run a decent race. Brian Meehan 18:45 Folkestone – Bix 11/1 We were surprised by the extent of his greenness on debut at Newbury. We hope he will be able to show the benefit of the experience this time. 20:05 Beverley – Madame St Clair 10/1 She stopped very quickly last time when the combination of a mile and a quarter and soft ground clearly did not suit her. Now over an extended mile and on faster going, she could show much more competitiveness
