So ill concentrate on these 2.  Ontheropes wears cheekpieces for the first time, which should bring out some improvement. He won thr Grade 1 Munster National on soft in October, this put him up in the handicap and he is now 10lb higher, but his stats suggest soft ground are what he needs here, as both his career wins have come on soft ground. He was 3rd here in 2020 in a Beginners Chase over 2m 4f, but he loves this type of track and his form on undulation tracks such as this are 1, 4, 3, 1. Although he has only won twice both those wins came on very similar conditions and the last was a grade 1 over 3m so this distance today should be fine. Its a career high mark ...

With Pleasant Company well clear of the next horse, who i actually thought scored higher and was closer to PC. Pleasant Company's stats over todays distance are 1, 1, 4, 1. and on heavy as well its 1, 1. Thye last win wa s a Grade 3 at Fairyhouse. He ran well in the Grand National last year coming 9th. and needed his return run. I think 9/1 is a good ew price. He will have to improve but he is carrying oa good weigh in tough conditions. Monbeg Notorious carries an insanely low weight and that will help given the conditions, with stats of 1, 2, 2, on heavy he can go well. However he will also like the going with 3 wins and a place from 5 runs. And is 2/2 over half a furlong less, on the going. So the extra half furlong will be fine.
