15/03/23 2:50 Cheltenham - Coral Cup System

1st Off Your Rocco 50/1 - 50

2nd Fil D'or 14/1 - 45

2nd HMS Seahorse 8/1 - 45

2nd Run For Oscar 7/1 - 45

3rd Camprond 13/2 - 40

As you can see this handicap is very tight. I had no clue going into this race so i am glad this will make it clearer.

Off Your Rocco i was shocked to see was 50/1 but as some firms paying 7 places its surely worth a go? He was 4th here in November in the Ballymore Trial, he wasnt beaten too far and the winner Blazing Khal is favourite for the Stayers Hurdle, in fact the 3 horses who finished in front of him have all won since including a Grade 1 and a Grade 2. He carried top weight here against horses rated 148 and more now. Gordon Elliot has been shrewd by running him twice after that but over shorter distances and he is 5lb lower. I am unsure to what ground he would like but he has won of soft over 2m 5f and it was a Listed race. Gordon Elliott won this last year with 50/1 Commander Of Fleet, can he do it again?

Fil D'or is another of Gordons many runners in this, and he has top weight. After not coping as well over fences as hurdles, he came back over hurdles for a Grade 3 last time and won. He came 2nd in the Triumph last year, he will love the rain. The only question marks is will he stay and can he carry top weight over this distance? His jockey is claiming 5lb which will help

HMS Seahorse is not a Elliott runner, in fact it is Paul Nolan who brings him here. His Grade 2 win over 1f shorter last time out on soft ground brings him right in contention, and he was 4th in the Boodles Juvenile last year, so the track should not pose any challenge. Big Chance

Run For Oscar i would worry needs better ground but Charles Byrnes is also very shrewd and you cannot dsmiss any of his runners when he comes here. The horse will stay though and could run a big race. My other slight concern is he has never won on a track like Cheltenham but in 10 runs on undulating tracks he has placed 6 times, his preference seems to be flat tracks, so we shall see. I wouldnt discount him

Camprond could be the best of the British? although an Irish owner! He was 4th on this last year and is 2lb lower this time. He has run ok at the track with a 1, 4, 4, 12. I worry he wants good ground, but he gets on well with Aidan Coleman and could place.

As i said i came into this with no clue, i will defineitly stick with the system and i like HMS Seahorse ew too

My Selection: Off Your Rocco 50/1
