06/12/25 1:36 Chepstow - Welsh National Trial System

1st Aworkinprogress 13/8 - 60

2nd Makin'yourmindup 8/1 - 55

2nd Sporting Ace 22/1 - 55

3rd Minella Blueway 8/1 - 45

Aworkinprogress scored very well here, possibly partly because since chasing he is unbeaten. He won on his seasonal debut carrying a big weight and because of Stay Away Fay he actually carries a nice weight this time. He is improving all the time and the more rain the better, which will help for the main event at Christmas. Furthermore, he never wins by too much so he could potentially still be well handicapped. He has big claims. I think this will give us an indication of how he handles the track, as his target with be the Welsh National. Nassalam did the double of this, then the Welsh Nation in 2023!

Makin'yourmindup is very similar to Aworkinprogress as in he stays well and he will want the rain to fall, although he has run well on better ground. My only slight concern is fitness, however its obvious this is not his main aim and his seasonal debut, he will come on from this and i expect his main aim will be the Welsh National, which this will put him spot on for it.

Minella Blueway might just need this, as stats could suggest he needs a couple of runs to get back to full fitness. He won't mind the course, not sure he would want too much rain, i should think a placed effort is as good as he will do today, but you never know.

Sporting Ace is a C&D winner and is 2/2 at Chepstow, he stays further, is versatile ground wise, although his stats might suggest he prefers heavy. His recent form is a bit hard to decipher, he has had 2 runs since coming back from a break, so should be fit enough. Back at Chepstow again, it gives him a chance.

The top 2 here are of real interest, however Aworkinprogress' score was very good so i am sticking with the system

My Selection: Aworkinprogress 13/8
