1st King Turgeon 6/1 - 85

2nd Mahons Glory 20/1 - 70

3rd Vintage Fizz 16/1 - 50

2 of the top 3 came 1st and 2nd in this last year. King Turgeon won this last year and is now 10lb higher in the handicap, so this will not be as easy. He has a lot of positives here including the ground, the course, and although he has won over further, this race is a race that needs a horse who can stay well. Also, last year he did come in race fit with a previous run which he won by 10L, and after a wind op. He has had another wind op and does run well fresh. The weight he carries is a worry, he certainly has claims again

Mahons Glory is a strange one. He was in a match race last time out and was well beaten, but he was eased down, he comes in race fit which he does seem to need a race or 2, to get into the swing again. The ground, distance and course look to be fine for him. He is a good jumper, so that's another positive. Another positive for me personally is he likes to make all himself, so if he has an uncontested lead, he could go well. He won't mind it drying out, either, which it could do.

Vintage Fizz came 2nd to King Turgeon last year, and he has a 13lb swing in the weights with King Turgeon this year, and he was only beaten 3.5L in this, so you have to think that he could possibly reverse the form. He will like the ground, we know he likes the fences, and I would quite fancy his chances of reversing the form. I would also think he won't mind drying ground also.

All 3 of these have claims, I will obviously stick with my system in that order, however I would not put you off any of them.

My Selection: King Turgeon 6/1
