11/11/23 2:45 Aintree - Grand Sefton System

1st Nassalam 7/1 - 60

2nd Gesskille 3/1 - 45

2nd Yccs Portocervo 20/1 - 45

3rd Percussion 10/1 - 40

Nassalam scored very well here. this distance seems ideal for him, he came 3rd at Cheltenham over the same trip and is on the same mark as then. That was soft that day and lots of winners came from that race. He subsequently tried over 3m but it didnt work, not sure if he didnt stay that far. He loves the ground and the trip is ideal, he can go well fresh. He jumps well also so no issues there, and he goes well left handed. My only slight concern is that he ran at Aintree last time out and im hoping it was more the extra distance than the track and he carries a big weight, but his jockeys 5lb claim will help. So as long as he takes to the fences, he has big claims

Gesskille came 2nd in the Sefton last year and the Bechers as well, but didnt do well in the Topham off 140, he is only 2lb lower, which is a concern but he does have blinkers on. Soft conditions should not worry him, and if the blinkers have the desired effect he could go well.

Yccs Portocervo will love this distance, he has won on soft but i wonder if better ground would suit him better, he is only 3lb lower than his highest mark. All his wins have been left handed and he likes a flat track, so several positives, and he has won his last 2 races over this exact distance, and he can run well fresh.

Percussion came 3rd in this last year and is 5lb lower now. This distances looks to suit him although he stays further. He also came 3rd in the Bechers too, so we know he loves the fences. He could go well

I will stick with my system but i do like Percussion ew as well

My Selection: Nassalam 7/1
