06/05/23 4:40 Newmarket - 2000gns System

1st Silver Knott 10/1 - 85

2nd Auguste Rodin 13/8 - 70

2nd Chaldean 8/1 - 70

3rd Indestructable 25/1 - 65

Well i can certainly say, despite being profitable following Silver Knott last year, i did not consider him here. Possibly a big oversight. Firstly, he follows the exact same route as Coroebus who won the Autumn Stakes then the 2000gns, the year before One Ruler tried but only managed 6th in the Guineas. Ghaiyyath won that race but went to the Derby and won that instead. So it shows the caliber of horse Charlie Appleby has here. His dam was a winner over 1m4f and 1m6f, this horse has the potential to win The Derby and St Leger! in fact i would be interested for both. Could he be a triple crown horse? So first i didnt even consider him a Guineas horse but now he has topped my system im looking at him to be a triple crown potential, i could definitely see them try. Ground is fine, the track is fine. The only concern i would have, is if he needs further, but at 10/1 it seems a good bet.

Auguste Rodin is similar to Silver Knott in that you would think he would want further. His dam Rhododendron was 2nd in the Oaks. but that was the furthest she went. She stayed at 1m 2f after that, but being by Galileo you would think 1m4f would suit him better. He did win the Futurity Stakes which Luxumbourg won the previous year and great things were hoped for him. Several Guineas and Debry winners have come that route, so it shows what they think of him also. The only time he went on Good he got beat, but that was on his debut so im inclined to ignore that. He hasnt done anything wrong and has a massive chance. All his wins have come with cut in the ground though and seeing has he will probably want further, will the good ground make it too fast? its a tough one.

Chaldean won the Dewhurst so we know the track is fine, the going was good that day so another tick. His sire is Frankel, so i dont need to go into that, but his dam has produced several winners at 7f and one at 1m, so you should think that 1m is perfect for him. There is a lot to like about him.

Indestructable has been ignored a little, yet he is the winner of the Craven! yes the fancied runners may have underperformed slighty but he still won nicely. I am not sure about his breeding because he dam didnt do much, she did go close over 7f on heavy so probably would have stayed further. By Kodiac so the distance should be fine, however i think the rule is that it takes a horse who stays further than 1m to win this, but he could run well. Track and ground are great in fact he might want it firmer. But for a big ew why not!

Last year my system correctly predicted the first 3 home. I am not expecting it to hit the mark everytime but now looking at Silver Knott i am more inpressed. So i hope the top 3 here will all run well and maybe one of them will win.

My Selection Silver Knott 10/1
