04/06/22 4:40 Epsom - The Derby System

1st Nahanni 25/1 - 70

2nd Walk Of Stars 16/1 - 65

3rd Desert Crown 2/1 - 60

Nahanni was very unexpected. But he is a winner at Epsom, and he took to the track very well. He won over 1m 2f that day and stayed on well held off all challengers. United Nations who came 4th that day, has since won a Listed race. He has won twice over 1m 4f so we know he stays and i think they way he won his race over 1m 2f here, it looked like the extra distance will be perfect. He actually has done nothing wrong in his races, the only time he was beaten was on debut where he was very slow out the stalls, left at the back and was just beaten by his stablemate who was on his 3rd run. Could be a dark horse here.

Walk Of Stars was actually beaten by United Nations, who was the horse who Nahanni soundly beat at Epsom. Walk Of Stars will be fine at this distance, his sire is Dubawi and dam was a 1m 4f winner. So it shouldnt be an issue. In fact his dam was related to several NH horses including Whispering Gallery who won over 2m 4f. In fact he could be a potential St Leger candidate. So keep an eye on his run here.

Desert Crown won the Dante so easily, all were race fit horses but Desert Crown and one other (who was well beaten) were making their seasona debuts and Desert Crown stamped his dominance on them. I wouldnt have any doubts about him getting 1m 4f, and he si a worthy favourite after his Dante win.

Royal Patronage has stall 1, but i cant see him reversing the form with Desert Crown.

Stone Age, Royal Patronage & Changingoftheguard scored 55, West Wind Blows and Nations Pride scored 50. Its a very tight race

Im going to stick with Nahanni here, but i also would like to see Walk Of Stars go well because i think he will be a Leger horse later on. Desert Crown will be hard to beat, but im happy to listen to my system here

My Selection: Nahanni 25/1
