01/05/21 3:40 Newmarket - 2000 Guineas System
1st Master Of The Seas 11/1 - 100
2nd One Ruler 10/1 - 75
3rd Chindit 16/1 - 55
3rd Lucky Vega 16/1 - 55
I would like to think this has it correct as Masters Of The Seas came top by quite a bit. For me although trends say its not essential because 9 of the last 23 winners have run at Newmarket and of those 9, 5 have won here before they come to this race. I mention this because the dip at Newmarket can catch horses out, and Master Of The Seas has run twice at the track and won both, over 7f and 1m. He won the Craven Stakes last time out. He did have a run in Meydan in February where he was not beaten far by race fit Naval Crown. He was beaten by both Thunder Moon and Wembley in the National Stakes, but both of these have been beaten at Newmarket.
One Ruler is another winner at Newmarket. He won a Group 3 over C&D on soft ground and he will certainly appreciate this better ground. He ran a cracker last time out on heavy ground where just beaten in the Futurity Trophy. This form is very good and he has every chance.
Chindit has been very well beaten at Newmarket which is a big concern, it was the same race as Wembley and Thunder Moon were beaten. The ground was soft that day and Chindit will prefer the better ground. That was the only blip in his form and if it was just the ground and not the track then he has big claims.
Lucky Vega was 2nd in the Middle Park here over 6f. And the step up to 1 mile should be fine based in breeding. Won the Phoenix Stakes too so has the Group 1 form, the question mark is the trip but i dont think thats an issue, he could be very interesing.
A couple of other things, Mystery Smiles is 100/1 and his form with Master Of The Seas could be interesting, as he didnt have much room and could have been much closer, 100/1 could be insulting.
just for clairty i will add the scores of some of the others.
Mystery Smiles 45
Thunder Moon 45
Van Gogh 40
Naval Crown 35
Mutasaabeq 35
Wembley 25
Peotic Flare 25
I will be sticking with my system, i think this year despite my system, i think its quite wide open, there is no real standout here.
My Selection: Master Of The Seas 11/1
