19/03/21 1:55 County Hurdle - System

1st Third Time Lucki 13/2 - 45

2nd Edwardstone 14/1 - 35

2nd Strong Glance 40/1 - 35

3rd Gowel Road 16/1 - 30

3rd Petit Mouchoir 33/1 - 30

Not the highest scoring system and all very close except the winner here, so am hoping Third Time Lucki can run well.

He needs the better ground, and stats on good to soft are 3, 1, 1, 1. He came 2nd in the Supreme Trial in November and was beaten not very far by For Pleasure, who Tuesday came 3rd in the Supreme. He also came 4th in the Champion Bumper the year before, so this Grade 3 handicap race is the easiest race he has contested at Cheltenham, but being Cheltenham its still tough. Im not sure what happened at Musselburgh, it may have been too soft. He has claims, and he likes Cheltenham so he can go well.

Edwardstone was 6th in the Supreme last year and i actually think he wants better ground than he has had lately, despite winning on heavy that was an 'easy' race. His run in the Betfair hurdle gives him claims again here. He was beaten by Soaring Gloy in that race, who did disappoint in the Supreme, but Edwardstone certainly has claims here.

Strong Glance is another who wants the better ground, and he has won a bumper here before. I do think he needs to improve to be involved but the better ground will aid his cause and although its tough, you never know.

Gowel Road is lightly raced and could be very good after winning 2 in a row. He beat Good Ball last time by 5L and they are both rated 131, so he could be well handicapped. Interesting he has headgear on for the first time. He is definitely improving and could be better than his mark. He is very interesting.

Petit Mouchoir is and Irish Campion hurdle winner, and although getting on now he was 5th in last years Champion Hurdle. He has a claimer taking off 7lb from his big weight, but he has that weight for a reason. If he can run to that form he has big claims and Gordons horses have been running so well lately, you can not ignore him

My Selection: Third Time Lucki 13/2
