There was one clear winner here and its the 2nd string of the stable, but i trust my system
Cheque En Blanc seems to enjoy Plumpton, his stats here are 3, 3, 1, 6, 1, PU. he has only won 5 times in his career and the 2 wins at Plumpton have come over fences here over todays distance too, once was on soft too and both times carrying top weight. This race is a step up in class, however he is bottom weight here and the jockey claims 7lb. He is 1lb lower than his career high, so this will take a career best, but the jockeys claim means he is effectively running off a markof 102, and he has won at Plumpton off that mark. He also will enjoy the soft ground, but there is no doubt he will needa career best here to win, he is up against much better horses.
Special Acceptance won at this track last time out over 2 and a half furlongs shorter on soft ground. He has only raced 3 times over fences and winning one, he too needs a career best here but seeing as he has only raced 3 times over fences, there could be the improvement there. Distance is an unknown too but the fact he won over 3m 2f will hopefully mean he will get this distance in fact it may bring out even more improvement. The cheekpieces were added last time out, so if they continue to have a good effect then he will run well.
Seaston Spirit won last time out on on his season debut, which i s a big deal as he hasnt previously won on his season debut in fact hasnt run very well. So he could be in great form. That was over hurdles though and today he is over fences. He won his last race over fences as well and is up 9lb for that win. He loves the soft conditions and the heavy the better. He stays all day. He also needs a career best to win here. My only concern and its a small one, is that he has only ever won on flatter tracks. But thats maybe where the test in stamina will come into play.
Rathlin Rose is 13 years old! he is a smashing horse, who has hada preference for Sandown in the past. He actually come 3rd here last year off a mark of 128. Not only is he 5lb lower in the ratings, his jocey claims 5lb, so effectively he is 10lb better off than last year. We know he retains ability as he was just beaten in his last race, and lets face it he is getting a bit long in the tooth and it takes him a few races to get back to fitness, he has had those run and should be fully primed here. I think he has a smashing chance.
Benevolantdictator is from the same yard as Cheque En Blanc, and those selection of stable jockey Jamie. He is an improver and has won at the track very easily which shuggests the stepup in trip will be helpful. He is 2/2 over fences, and up 11lb since his last win, but really he could be anything. He is up against more experienced horses here, but he loves the ground and stays so he looks to have a chance here. He didnt score as well because he is lightly raced. He is certainly one for the future.
Another horse not named is Defi Des Carres, only race once over here and i cannot compare his French form, but he was just beaten in the XCountry at Cheltenham, which could be the best form on offer. He stays all day and he loves the soft ground, i suspect based on french form the deeper the better, he could also be anything and although i suspect he will be seen at the festival in March, this race will keep him ticking over until then. He could run well.
Hoepfully my system is correct. I suspect the winner is named although Defi Des Carres will be dangerous. I will stick to my system but any of the named could win
