22/03/20 3:10 Downpatrick - Ulster National - System
1st Amaulino 12/1 60
1st Poormans Hill 25/1 - 60
2nd Out Sam 10/1 - 35
2nd Ifyoucatchmenow 5/1 - 35
3rd The Red Menace 16/1 - 30
Hopefully the winner is named above and the system is correct.
First i want to mention Poormans Hillwho won this back in 2018 off 6lb lower than today - the jcokeys 7lb claim negates that though. He has ran very poorly since that win and the handicapper put him up 10lb, but hasnt relented and dropped him very much. But the interesting stat im pointing out is that he is 3/3 at Downpatrick. If he came here having had a run this season, i would really fancy him, but he hasnt run for 284 days. However, at his price he may be worth an ew.
Amaulino won this last year and is up 8lb for that run. He probably has it all to do, seems to prefer good but has won on soft. But we know he goes well here and gets the distance.
Out Sam has finished 3rd in this to Poormans Hill and PU last year, he was rated 140 last year but has dropped right down in the hadicap to 128, which is 2lb lower than when he was 3rd to Poormans Hills, which puts him right in the mix. The ground should not be a worry, he stays and has claims.
Ifyoucatchmenow is up 8lb for winning the Grade 2 Grand National Trial last time out. She only just scraped in from her stablemate, and 3rd placed Cheb De Kerviniou is weighted to turn the tables, and the reason he did not score better, is because he just hasnt got the form, so he could run a very big race. Ifyoucatchmeknow will not mind the going and has claims, i just worry about the weight.
The Red Menace has a big weight, luckily the jockeys claim will help here. He has also been off for a while and may need the run, and thats the biggesto worry here. However, he ahs won on Soft/heavy ground, but he may need firmer ground.
One not names is Cheb De Kerviniou, as mentioned came 3rd to Ifyoucatchmenow, and is weighted to turn the tables here. He didnt score well because of the lack of runs. He could have a big chance though. However, i am sticking to the system and taking a shot at Poormans Hill, and hoping we could see a big run from him. Just hope he is fit enough!!
