05/01/19 2:40 Plumpton The Sussex National - System

1st The Caller 16/1 - 70
2nd Hard To Forget 4/1 - 65
3rd Weststreet 20/1 - 50
4th Christmas In April 4/1 - 45

Another very close race, but lots of stats, so hopefully we will get a good result.

The Caller scored very well seeing as he is one of the outsiders. The reason he socred well is because to start with, he is the only runner in the race to win at this distance on soft ground. That win came in the Durham National in October. The average rated horse in that race was 130, today its 123. And The Caller is rated 122, 5lb up from his last win. He dropped a pound after being pulled up last time out. Sean Bowen said he was never travelling. If he runs to the form of the Durham National, then he has claims. its interesting to see Sean Bowen back on board, as he road him to that win at Sedgefield and it was the only time he has ridden him. He has only raced 4 times over fences though so hopefully there is some give in his handicap mark. I would also add that he beat Vinnie Lewis that day by over 12L and Vinnie Lewis is 7/1. Althought Vinnie Lewis was making his seasonal debut so he will have come on from that run.

Hard To Forget is a worthy favourite. He won at plumpton last time out, and won by 16L, the 3rd placed horse has since won. It was over 3m 2f, and was on heavy. It was impressive as well in the fact he had to shoulder top weight, and today he doesn't, but the competition is much tougher. He is 8lb higher in the handicap now and has to step up again, but again he has only raced 3 times over fences, so could still be improving. He will love the going.

Weststreet has won at 4m on heavy so 3m 5f on soft will not be an issue. He has run well at Plumpton before, but he did pull up in his last race and there is no real reason. He has the stamina, he loves the ground, he has the ability. He could run well.

Christmas in April wears headgear again after finally get a chase in under his belt last time, he was a novice and was put up 8lb in the handicap for the win. He has it to prove but it was soft last time, however he tends to run on good ground, so i dont think they will want any rain, and there doesnt seem to be any forecast.

Well i do think the winner will come from these 4, hoping my system is right, but i do like Hard To Forget as well.

My Selection: The Caller 16/1
