2:45 Lingfield Petite Jack 12/1

You know i like a horse with course form and Petite jack fits right into my category. I am not going to lie, its not a ny easy for him and he will have to do a lot better than his last disappointing run.

So here are his stats on an AW surface - 1, 6, 1, 1, 1, 2, 1, 10, 1, 6.  If i take Lingfield runs then its 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 10. I can rule out the 10th as that was over 2 miles and that was obviosuly too far. Over C&D it's 1, 1. He is by Champs Elysee who is one of the best sires at Lingfield and the AW in general, In The Lope has the next best sire in this race.

Battalion is probably the best form horse of the race but he is back from a break and he tends to need a run, although he has won off a break before, but thats was as a 4yo.

The Booking of Luke Morris is interesting, they have only teamed up 11 times at Lingfield and thier stats look like this 5, 1, 2, 2, 4, 1, 4, 1, 9, 2, 2.

The big guns have some runners and Charlie Appleby, William Haggas, and  Roger Charlton are in great form, and you expect theirs to run very well. But i am happy to try Petite Jack

3:30 Cheltenham Ahead Of The Curve 33/1

Very competative race and no doubting this boy has to step up massively on what he has done so far. I think the handicapper was quite harsh putting him up 10lb for his last win, but then you look at that race in detail and the winner went on to win again for Malcolm Jefferson, and the horse who came behind Ahead Of the Curve and well beaten (9L behind) has since gone on to win a hurdle race by 13l in this class ( plus a win and a 4th on the flat) the 4th and 7th have also since gone on to place again.

He drops down in distance for this race, but he has done everything asked of his so far. The Nicholls horse looks a big danger though, and there are plenty of others in this race who probably fancy their chances. He also shoulders top weight which isnt ideal, but means he is the best rated in the race. He could still go well here, maybe been overlooked for the big guns in the race
