22/07/17 2:10 Market Rasen - System
1st Red Tornado 8/1 - 110
2nd Ebony Express 7/2 - 80
3rd Curious Carlos 13/2 - 60
4th Star Foot 9/1 - 55
Red Tornando won this last year for connections. He is back again with another good chance. last year Dan Skelton sent 4 horses to this meeting, and they won 3. Overall Dan has sent 11 runners here in July and won 5 races here. So far this year he has sent 1 horse here this year and won, so any Dan Skelton runner has to be taken very seriously. Also the fact that Harry Skelton is back on board. He has stats of 3, 1, 1, 1, 1 on this horse, and they last time he rode him was in this race last year. That signals some intent here.
He is 1lb higher in the handicap now than when he won it last year, but carrying 3lb less, this is because of John Constable being in the race.
The going, distance and track all suit. A good run should be expected.
As i said though John Constable is in the race, he won a Grade 3 last time out over 1f shorter, he won by an impressive 14L, and in form Davy Russell is over here to ride him. This race is certainly easier, but he has a big weight to carry. 20lb more than Red Tornado. Can he do it? the ground and course certainly suits.
I thought Ebony Express would top this they way his stats started. Lots in his favour and after a long time off the track he came back to just get up. The in form team of Newland and Twiston-Davies is a positive and he has even less than Red Tornado, he has won a Grade 3 before, so if he recaptures old form, he will have every chance.
Kapstadt will like the going and track, he is 3 wins form 5 over this distance as well. He could run well
My Selection: Red Tornado 8/1
