20/06/17 5:00 Ascot - System
1st Yorkidding 12/1 - 70
2nd Thomas Hobson 9/2 - 60
2nd Who Dares Wins 11/2 - 60
3rd High Secret 22/1 - 55
Well this system has done me well in the past, a nice winner with Well Sharp in 2014, and some big priced places since. This year the system points towards Yorkidding being the one, but only by a whisker. As normal all these races are top notch, and this is no exception.
Mark Johnston rarely has runners in this race. His last runner was the ill fated Sir Graham Wade in 2014. Hopefully Yorkidding can change his bad luck.
Yorkidding will love the firmer ground in fact the firmer the better, he gets on well with his jockey, and the track will suit. Mark Johnston is in form as well. So fingers crossed for a big run.
Obviously Thomas Hobson is the one they all need to beat. Willie Mullins is in cracking form and he does well in races like this. He will like the track, he is a winner at this trip and everything looks positive. Only negative is that he needs to prove himself on this going. 1 run and very well beaten in a maiden, but he should go well.
Who Dares Wins is another who will love this course and unlike TH, he will love good-firm. He gets on well with his jockey. However his trainer has had 15 runners in the last 14 days, no winners and only 2 placed. Thats pretty poor.
A horse not on here and worth mentioning is Cleonte who didn't fare too well over 1m 4f on his British Debut, in a Group 2. But in France has won a Listed over 1m 7f, so this extra distance might be interesting. His breeding suggests that the firm conditions will not be an issue. He didnt score high because he doesn't have the British Form/
