09/06/17 Interesting Horses
Lugano looks the one to beat here, he looks a typical Sir Mark Prescott improver, he has a big stride and got caught for the turn of foot in his last race, but once he got going he won. He will be fitter this time and is the one they all have to beat. But Fast Play really does interest me here.
The reason for my liking this horse is partly the distance. She does her best racing at 1m 4f, her stats look like this 2, 2, 1, 3, 1, 5. The 5th place comes off a career high mark of 74 (her highet win was off 69). The last win came off 69, which she runs off today, she also won very well that day, which was in February. If you look at over C&D then stats are 2, 2, 3, 1, 5.
Now the not so great bit is that the trainer is not in form, 7 runners in the last 14 days and no winners not even a place. He has never won teaming up with Martin Lane, but Martin is ok around Wolves. Dore hasn't the best strike rates at Wolves, but then he rarely sends short priced horses, and he has had some big priced winners there, and if the horse is fit, which she is then she could easily sneak a place at very big odds. I am not saying she will win, but she could.
