07/05/17 1000gns 3:35 Newmarket - System

1st Rhododendron 6/4 - 75
2nd Fair Eva 6/1 - 60
3rd Daban 13/2 - 55
4th Talaayeb 11/1 - 50

Another tough race.  Rhododendron has gone the same route as Minding, both winning the Dubai Fillies Mile at Newmarket as a 2yo. However where as in the 2000gns, Minding and Churchill had similar times, Rhododendron did clock a similar time to Minding in the Fillies Mile, she was 0.02 seconds quick, however the issue is, Minding got eased down on her win and it was good-soft, where as Rhododendron had much faster ground. Also Fair Eva was quicker at 7f than Rhododendron, and Daban in her last run was quicker than Fair Eva.

With Rhododendron, she is the one they have to beat, but the form of her trainer is still an issue. Churchill was special but is Rhododendron?

Fair Eva was beaten by a very good horse in her last race as a 2yo, Spain Burg clocked a very impressive time over 7f, and you look back at Rhododendrons time over 7f on good-firm then Spain Burg was 3 seconds faster, So no disgrace in Fair Eva's second to Spain Burg. Fair Eva is bred to get a mile, her half brother Hakka is a winner over a mile and we all know Frankel go a mile. She should go well.

However i think Duban will give them all something to think about. She was quicker than Spain Burg over 7f on her 2nd ever start, i know it was as a 3yo and the other times were as 2yo's however she was very green. And she is half sister to Thikriyaat who is a Group 3 winner over 1m, So 1 mile will suit well. She was very green in the Nell Gwyn, and hopefully she will not be as gassy this time, she obviously had plenty in the tank, let's hope they go a good gallop.

I will stick to my system, but i cannot get past Duban's times, despite pulling very hard. I think she will be a big threat to Rhododendron, and is a better price

My Selection: Rhododendron 6/4 (Daban 13/2 ew, maybe a FC?)
