The Grand National is a lottery, you can do probably no worse than stick a needle in it, and do better. All the stats in the world will not make a difference if a horse doesn't jump well of a horse falls in front of him. But here are the system horses.

More Of That and Blaklion have shone here with the stats, More Of That worries me, there is no doubt he will love the going and gets on well with Geraghty, He won the World Hurdle at Cheltenham a few years ago, so no doubt he stays, but just a niggling in my mind that he has never won over fences at 3 miles or above. His form has been patchy lately and his handicap mark hasn't relented. This is a drop in class though, so he is a class horse on his day. That could help him win this.

Blaklion probably looks more of a Grand National horse. He came 2nd to Vieux Lion Rogue in the National Trial at Haydock, he jumps well, his only fall came on his 2nd ever try over fences, and since then he hasn't looked back, including winning the RSA. He has a good chance on ground he likes and a track he has previously run well at.

Cause Of Causes won the X-Country at Cheltenham, and is taking the same route as Elliotts only National winner Silver Birch, can he pull it off again? why not. The Key to this horse is good ground, he has been placed or won 8 times in 10 on good. Not bad stats. He stays, he is 3 wins from 4 with Jamie Codd on. His best month is in March though, when he has won most of his races, he is yet to win in April.

My ante post bet is Definitely Red, he will stay all day, and seems to be improving. He beat the Last Samurai by 14L last time, even though TLS was giving him 12lb in weight, but im not sure that would have mattered. The going is a unknown, but seeing as he won 3m 2f on soft so easily. this marathon trip on good should be fine.

I am also on Highland Lodge at 66/1 for this.

I will stick to the system on here, but Defintely Red, Blaklion and Cause of Causes have chances if they can get round safely. And thats the main thing, that all horses come back safe and sound.

Good luck to every horse and jockey tomorrow

My Selection: More Of That 12/1
