18/03/17 2:35 Newcastle - System
1st Sharney Sike 7/2 - 120
2nd Rosquero 14/1 - 55
3rd The Ramblin Kid 10/1 - 50
I am quite surprised SS isn't favourite here. He is only one of 4 winners on heavy ground in the race, with stats of 4, 1, 1. The 4 you could dismiss as it was over much shorter. Both wins have come in this class over this distance, and the last win was here at Newcastle. The last win came at 5lb higher in the handicap, and today his jockey claims 5lb as well. Yes he is getting on, but he must have a massive chance, his trainer is cracking form. In the last 9 days he has had 8 runners 4 winners and only 1 horse out the places.
Bassarabad has been in good form and even better when the visor has been fitted, with stats of 1, 2, 1. He has come a long way for this however he has race 5 times on heavy ground and never won. Thats a big negative for me. Plus his trainer has only had 1 winner in 26 attempts in the last 14 days.
Ramblin Kid and Rosquero are also winners on heavy and i can see them going ok.
My Selection: Sharney Sike 7/2
