Very close between the top 2 here. The reason Melodic Rendezvous scored so well is because of his stats on heavy ground. 9 runs 6 wins and 8 placed. Pretty good stats, and the only other horse who has encountered heavy ground is My Tent Or Yours, but that was 4 years ago and he was well beaten into 2nd. One other horse to point out is Old Guard who's sire's offspring have a very solid 20% strike rate on heavy ground.

I think this might be between MTOY and Old Guard. I will stick with my system here, but maybe a rfc?

It does contain 2 previous winners of the race and after doing the system, i will conceed that Corach Rambler has a massive chance to follow up here, however we all saw the effort he put in at Cheltenham, it blew me away and it was well reported exactly how tired he was after the race. That worries me as it wasnt that long ago, althougth everything points to another very good run.
