System Picks Ascot Day 3
2:30 Norfolk Stakes
1st Coach House 9/4 - 55
2nd Coulsty 11/2 - 40
2nd Green Door 10/1 - 40 2nd Legend Rising 16/1 - 40
3rd Ifwecan 25/1 - 30
Coach House looks like the obvious winner here. Won a Listed race last
time out and did it well. I personally like Eccelston and Legends
Rising, but Richard Hughes has chosen to ride Coulsty. Coulsty did win
well on his debut, and although the 2nd in the race has since gone on to
win, she won a C6 Maiden. There are quite a few who could go on and
turn into nice types. but i would stick with Coach House in this as
seems to be the safest option, although there are plenty with a shout at
bigger odds
3:05 Ribblesdale
1st Fersah 28/1 - 45
2nd Just Pretending 13/2 - 40
2nd Alive Alive Oh 9/4 - 40 3rd Waila 12/1 - 35
Fersah needs to take a big step up here, but it's not out the question.
I have to say i like Riposte who is about 11/1 in this. But the Irish
have won this race the last 2 years and they mount a serious challenge
with Just Pretending and Alive Alive Oh. Alive Alive Oh looks very
smart, and i liked Just Pretending's run in the Irish 1000gns, not sure
she will get the extra half mile though. The Lark needs rain and lots of
it. Rain is forecast tomorrow, and there will be lots of it, but it
might be too late to soften the ground to the extent she will need.
3:45 Ascot Gold Cup
1st Rite Of Passage 13/2 - 70
2nd Colour Vision 14/1 - 50
3rd Estimate 6/1 - 45 4th Simenon 6/1 - 25
I backed Rite Of Passage last month, he is unbeaten in both his runs at
Ascot, and i think he could take this. Saying that i have huge respect
for Estimate, and although she hasn't run this distance before, her half
brother Enzeli won this race in 1999 on the same ground as today.
I have a soft spot for Colour Vision, and he just hasn't been right of
late. He is fitted with a visor for the first time, and that could very
well spark some life back into him. I also have huge respect for Simenon
and Saddler's Rock, Saddler's Rock was beaten 3/4L last year by Colour
Vision on Good to Soft, this dry ground will help him.
4:25 Britannia Stakes
1st Wentworth 4/1 - 55
1st Red Avenger 50/1 - 55
2nd Law Enforcement 80/1 - 40 2nd Queensbury Rules 16/1 - 40
3rd Shebebi 28/1 - 35
A lot of horses in this have chances, Wentworh is obvious, Cape Peron
too, plus most the field. The system shows 2 very big priced horses up
there. Red Avenger will enjoy a very strong pace and could go well. Law
Enforcement is giving weight all round which will make this very tough,
but Willy Twiston-Davies claims a valuable 5lb.
A horse not
listed is Haafaguinea, who has progressed well enough to be a serious
player here at 20/1 is a price i like.
5:00 Tercentenary Stakes
1st Windhoek 12/1 - 40
2nd Centurius 40/1 - 35
3rd Remote 3/1 - 30
Remote looks good in this but i actually fancy Chopin here. He got
beaten 3 and 3/4L in the Derby and was short for room at the end. This
drop in distance is interesting, and could help. Van Deer Neer is
supposedly wearing cheek pieces. And that could light him up enough to
go very well.
5:35 King George V
1st Excellent Result 14/1 - 40
1st Soviet Rock 12/1 - 40
1st Bold Sniper 5/1 - 40 2nd Cap ORushes 28/1 - 30
2nd Eshtiaal 8/1 - 30
3rd Space Ship 12/1 - 25
3rd Royal Skies 10/1 - 25
3rd Blue Wave 28/1 - 25
3rd Spillway 10/1 - 25
Since doing these stats this is the closest it has ever been. Saying
that i really like Excellent Result and a horse that's not on here
Number One London 10/1. Excellent Result beat NOL, but the step will
suit NOL and i know NOL is very highly rated.
