Todays Nap

5:05 Musselburgh - West Leake Hare 6/1 e/w

After my disappointing day yesterday, i am playing a little safe with todays nap by suggesting e/w. I think he could win if back to his best. WLH is a horse i pointed out on his last run, for those of you that remember. It was his first run for Dandy Nicholls, and he had run in much higher classes. But recently had been run over 5 and 6 furlongs, even though it looked like 7f was a more suitable distance. He was coming back after a 7 months off the track. And he needed the run, he was shuffled to the back of the field at the start and i think although no close up that he lost his stride a bit and by then he was several lengths behind. Did catch up and was making some headway at the end just never got close enough to be involved.

Today he comes here race fit, unlike 4 of todays opponents. The ground should be fine where as a couple have question marks. And i think the distance will suit too. Once again this is a massive drop in class and handicap, He is 10lb less in the handicap than when beaten a short head in a class 2 race over 7f. Today is Class 6. He is only 4, so i should hope that over the right distance he can improve and under the care of Dandy Nicholls and his son i think he will go well. It is also their only ride/runner of the day.

Of the others, they all have great chances, i quite like Renoyr who's last race he came 2nd. £ horses behind him that day have gone on to win and one horse won a class 2 race, and the winner of that race went to Aintree although was well beaten by At Fisher's Cross. But that form looks great for Renoyr.
