This colt By Exceed and Excel has been thriving on the A/W surface over the winter. His A/W stats are 1, 4, 1, 1, 3, 1, 1*. (* class up) he won a 7f Listed race last time out by a whisker, but i think that if you look back at his run over 1m then 1m looks to suit him better on A/W over 1m he is 2/2, and his last win over 1 mile wasn't easy, as he was short for room, but when he did get it he ran on well and won nicely. He just needs to replicate that win to take this.
His last run has worked out well with 4th place winning next time out and 5th place coming 2nd next time out, but also interesting is that the 5th placed horse beat Nazreef back in February who Solar Deity faces here today. Also another horse he races today is Atlantis Crossing, who he met 2 races ago over 1m, Atlantis Crossing went on to win a race before coming here. And although he re-apposes on even better terms, i think Solar Deity has improved enough and as long as staying out of traffic issues, will be hard to catch.
So in all a 1lb rise since his Listed win and the step up in distance that will suit. And the drop in class all play into Solar Deitys favour and is why i have him as my nap
Just looking at the 3:30 at Doncaster tomorrow, i am going with a favourite of mine - Spinatrix, but i did want to point out that the favourite Jack Dawkins, looks primed to win this, but i found a chink in his armour in that all his wins and best runs have been on soft or heavy. The ground is Good tomorrow, and i think there might be horses better on this ground. Spinatrix could take this, he has been in great form of late amd was only beaten 1L last time out
