4:20 Wolverhampton - Ishikawa 7/2

Goes well at Wolverhampton stats are 2, 1, 1, 3, 3, 2 over C&D, lost out by a short head, and tomorrow is only up 1lb for that close finish. 2 of his 4 wins have come here.

The winner and 3rd place in that race went on to race in a higher class, the winner Dakota Canyon finished 7 out of 8 and Lean On Pete came 2nd by just over 1L. Although Lean On Pete's 2nd is promising and Dakota Canyon's 7th looks poor, on watching the race Dakota Canyon had no room to race and several times clipped heels, causing the horse to lose the stride, and was no match in the straight. But Lean On Pete's form boosts Ishikawa's. Also the 4th horse Copperwood has run 2 very good races since including a 1/2L 3rd over C&D last time out.

Everyone is talking about Exceedexpectations, who's stats are 1, 4, 2, 3, 1 - however looking back into both horses last races, they both met Guest Book, Exceedexpectations beat Guest Book by 17 and a half lengths, whilst Ishikawa beat Guest Book by 40L, and although Guest Book was 3lb higher when he met Ishikawa, there is still a big difference,

The unknown horse is Watt Broderick who came 3rd by half a length last time out at Lingfield over 10f, and is not carrying a penalty today. He is also lightly raced so has more scope to improve. But my reason for going against him is because he ran Monday, and although not a hard race, the last time he was quick to return to the track (13 days) he didnt run well, but no doubt about it that he is a very big threat to my horses hopes.  But my choice is in cracking form and will be tough to get past.
