Daily Tips 3/2/13
Mansonien L'as stands at 17hh |
3:10 Leopardstown - Gentleman Duke 16/1 e/w - A bit risky, but i have been searching for a big priced runner that should go well, i think i have found it in Gentleman Duke, firstly he is wearing the first colours of JP Mcmanus, but i think this better ground will suit, and everything actually looks in his favour. You can discount his last run as that was in a much better race than this, and the time before that was in the same quality race as today. Yes he was 5th, but only beaten by about 6L, the better ground could see him improve.
3:50 Sedgefield - Mansonien L'as 11/4 - Very interesting race, first of all i would like to mention Ballyvoneen, he has travelled a long way for this race, so connections must think it is worth it. Carrying a bit of weight which isn't in his favour but he is down in grade and his only run at this course, was over todays distance, and results in a win. It was also in a higher class, at 12/1 i think he is worth a e/w if you do not fancy my main pick. My main pick is thought to prefer more testing ground, but i do not think todays drier ground will worry him at all, he in fact ticks all the right boxes today, and a 3lb penalty should not worry him. Esme Rides Again meets him on 18lb better terms than last time when he beat her. Her form hasn't been great recently, and i would be surprised if that 18lb would make much difference. Cara Court would be the main danger, but i like my fellow more.
4:30 Huntingdon - Tiny Tenor 6/1 e/w - I have put him as a e/w, but i do fancy his chances of winning this. he has come 251 miles for this race on his handicap debut. Most notable was his last race where he was 4th behind My Tent Or Yours. And he has come up against some other good horses including Broadway Buffalo and Sidney Melbourne. He needs the better ground too. My worry would be Coffee, who is a horse i have liked, but has been out of form recently. he would be a danger if he recaptures that.
