£40 stake - £45.50 returns = £5.50 profit
Todays Nap
2:20 Catterick - Stormy Morning 7/2
Ran well on the flat last time out, and although i am no fan of most female jockeys, i do think that Harriet Bethall and Stormy Morning make a great team, their results look like this 1, 2, 3, 1, 2 and he just seems to like a female rider on his back. He is well handicapped and this distance will suit well. He was 3rd in his last run over hurdles and an improvement is very likely here.
5:10 Lingfield - Broxbourne 4/5 - £18
As you all know by now, this is a horse i have followed very closely. As her price suggest she is the one to beat today. She is on a 4 timer today. I think the step up to 2miles could well suit, i have always said she needs 1m5f and over. Her last run was 1m4f and 20yards, i thought she would need those 20yards, but i was wrong, she blew away the opposition in a very workmanlike performance. However she is up 7lb for her last win and 21lbs in total. There is more improvement to come.
I haven't put her as my nap today, because the 2 miles is an unknown and although i think she will be fine at this distance, and i think she is better than her opposition. My main worry would actually be Rosewood Lad 12/1 who is well handicapped to win this, i do think 2m 1f would be preferable but has every chance in causing Broxbourne some problems. Ctappers in my opinion needs further, but does go well on this surface. Lascaux is very interesting and although i think a step up in distance, i wonder that this might be too far. Beat Route looks for me personally to be carrying too much weight to be competitive even though was a good 3rd over course and distance last time out.
So the way i see it is that Broxbourne could scrape another win here, but i would see either Rosewood Lad or Lascaux causing her the most problems.
There are shares still left in Broxbourne, i think only 7/20 shares have been taken up - the are £5000 a pop and she is in training with Mark Johnston - if i could afford it i would. She has a bright future, i think she is better than a class 5 horse, and the share also includes Copperwood and Mudaweem. In the Ready To Run Partnership - i would urge anyone to go get a share.
