York – Firdaws 6/1
The daughter of Mr Greeley was third in the Fillies' Mile last September but
failed to fire on her first run of the year at Newbury. Since that run she has
been in good order at home and Roger is hoping for an improved performance. He
said: "We think Firdaws got stuck in the mud at Newbury and I am happy to
put a line through that run."Based on her form from last season and
her home work and I hopeful that she will run well. Fast ground is ideal as it
a galloping track like York,"Michael Bell

Ascot – Star of Rohm 12/1
He has been given a bit of time after his Ayr run
and appears to be back in good form again.
5:35
Newmarket – Candycakes
At Newmarket we start the action with CANDYCAKES who
has been stepped up again in trip. She looks as though she will appreciate
further and it would be great to see her fulfil her potential
6:10
Newmarket – Hot Mustard
gave a good account of himself on his racecourse
debut and looks to have come on for this run
6:40
Newmarket – Santo Prince
who is now qualified for nurseries and we think that
he will be very competitive here off his mark.
7:30
York – Momentary 5/1
will bounce back from her Ascot disappointment and
give a good account of herself. She has put in some decent efforts in her
homework and if she recreates her Newbury form she should be in with a shout.

LORD OF THE GARTER (Newmarket
6.10 p.m.) Royal Applause colt makes his debut in what could well be a tough
heat. He is sure to know more about it next time.HARRY BOSCH (York 7.00 p.m.) Son of Kyllachy has run well both starts at Newmarket and at Sandown, where he was a good third. This median auction maiden represents a slight ease in class and he is sure to go close.

7:30 York – Elas Diamond 7/1
JEREMY has declared Elas Diamond for the Lyric Stakes at York on Friday. The daughter of Danehill Dancer has been off the track since October 2010 when she looked like one of the most exciting fillies of her generation. She was runner-up to subsequent Group Two winner Khawlah on her debut at Newmarket in September 2010, before easily breaking her maiden at Nottingham by 12 lengths. She then returned to Newmarket for the Listed Montrose Stakes where she was beaten only a length by subsequent triple Group 1 winner Blue Bunting. Jeremy withdrew her from her intended run at Newmarket due to the soft ground last week but conditions are set to suit on the Knavesmire. He said: “I am delighted to have Elas Diamond back on the racecourse. She was very sick as a three-year-old and as a result she had to miss the whole season. “I have been pleased with her work and, while I feel that she will improve for the run, I hope she can give a good account. “She was declared at Newmarket last weekend but we took her out due to the soft ground. I feel that York is an ideal track for her and good, fast ground is also ideal.”

7:30 York – Emirates Queen 6/1
Emirates Queen is our flag bearer on Friday when she runs in the Listed Lyric Fillies’ Stakes at York. She is bottom on official ratings but that is because she has run only twice, winning a maiden last time out, and it’s as well to bear in mind that all her opponents were in her position at one time. She was very impressive visually at Doncaster and though the form of that race has still to be tested she gave the impression that she would be able to compete at a higher level. Several of her relatives relished fast ground so the quicker surface at York should be in her favour and other than Barefoot Lady and Mid Mon Lady, the other runners look much of a muchness.

6:00 York - Moorside Magic 25/1 & Giorgio's Dragon 16/1
probably wants a bit further in the Future Cleaning Services Apprentice Handicap and I'd be surprised if she could win. We'll see what happens with her and probably wants a bit further in the Future Cleaning Services Apprentice Handicap and I'd be surprised if she could win. We'll see what happens with her and Giorgio's Dragon who is in good form. He had a little setback, nothing serious, and he could be well handicapped. I'm expecting him to run well.who is in good form. He had a little setback, nothing serious, and he could be well handicapped. I'm expecting him to run well.
6:30 York - Baldemar 9/1 was very disappointing last time when we thought he'd run well and he's in a very tight-knit handicap here. There's only five pounds from top to bottom in the Seddon Property Services Handicap. He's in good order and if he bounces back to his best he'd have a chance but he needs to.
7:00 York - Mirlo Blanco is a big playboy, we've done as much as we can with him at home so he goes in the Batleys Cash And Carry Median Auction Maiden Stakes. He needs to grow up and get cottoned on to the job. He thinks it's all a game so we'll give him a run and see what happens. Cash Is King is a horse we like a lot. He was very disappointing on very soft ground so we're hoping that was the problem there. He could run a big race but it looks a very warm maiden.
7:30 York - Barefoot Lady 7/2 is a very tough filly and the E.B.F. Stobart PJA Testimonial Lyric Fillies' Stakes is the easiest race she's had this year. Hopefully it's a chance for her to get her head in front, she's very genuine, very brave and I'd love to see her win.
8:00 York - Take It To The Max 33/1 has been struggling with the handicapper after winning four last year and he's not competitive at the moment. We've got to keep running him and hopefully he'll find his mark. It just looks as though he cannot win off his rating at the moment and I'd be surprised if he could win the Skybet Supporting The Yorkshire Racing Festival Handicap. I also run Lord Aeryn 11/2 who is in great form. He does have a very solid chance but it is a competitive, open race.

6.35
Final Flashback, is in good form, we're expecting him to run a nice race
now that the
ground
is drying out.
7.05
Fanny Price, nice filly. Making her debut here, should improve from the
run.
7.35
South South West, 2nd last time out at Killarney. We expect him to be
placed here even
though
he has a bad draw.
8.05
Al Mancilia, nice filly, having her first run in a handicap, should run
a nice race, also in
this
race , Sli Na Croi, who is in great form, this distance should suit
her. We're hoping she will take a place.

3:30 Ascot Thistle Bird 4/1She should be suited by the fast ground and I hope she has a good chance at being in the shake up, as her performance at Windsor was very encouraging.
3:55 Thirsk – Cactus Valley 13/8
He should be suited by the extra 2 furlongs and his form looks progressive; but most of his races have been run on slower ground, so I hope he can cope with todays conditions.
7:40 Nemarket – Sanctioned 20/1
I hope he will improve, but there are quite a few in the race that I would expect to finish in front of him.
Richard Hannon
2:20 Ascot – Fleeting Smile 4/7
Fleeting Smile did a nice bit of work under Richard Smith on Tuesday, and she seems to be in very good form. She showed a lot of promise on her debut, and, while the soft ground would not have helped, we bumped into a good one in subsequent Royal Ascot winner Newfangled. She looks as if she will appreciate this step up in distance, and, while there are two or three well-bred newcomers in there, our filly's previous experience will stand her in good stead.
2:55 Ascot – Dansili Dual 11/4
Dansili Dual runs in his first nursery and looks to be on a decent mark
3:30 Ascot – Free Verse 8/1
The Queen's Free Verse looked to revel in the soft ground when winning at Newmarket last time and will find this surface totally different, she deserves another shot at some black type in the Listed race.
