18:50 Goodwood –
Watered Silk 5/1
Watered Silk remains in good form after his win at Chester,
but the softening ground would be a concern
19:25 Goodwood – Nile
Knight
Nile Knight shaped
with plenty of promise on his debut over course and distance. The experience
should stand him in good stead, though he has yet to encounter ground anything
like as soft as this
21:00 Goodwood –
Ebtisama
Ebtisama was very green on her debut and would need to step
up on that considerably to be competitive here
Brian Meehan
13:40 Newmarket –
Lilly White
Daughter of Speightstown, from a smart female family, is
half sister to two winners in the US. Will probably be better for the
experience.
14:45 Newmarket –
Symphony Time 10/1
Filly showed decent form at up to 7f, especially at
Newmarket, but clearly failed to get the mile last time after racing
prominently. Reverts to six furlongs now with each-way chances.
15:20 Newmarket – Edraaq
Dubai Destination gelding showed he was going the right way
on comeback, staying on for third at Lingfield tried at 10f. The extra quarter
mile here may well suit, although he has a fair bit to find with the probable
favourite, so he may have to wait to go handicapping before finding a winning chance.
15:55 Newmarket –
Cockney Class 16/1
Five-year-old returned from more than a year off with an
encouraging effort over the Rowley Mile, fading late, probably as much through
ring-rustiness as any other factor. He clearly has plenty of speed and a furlong
less on this stiffer track should prove ideal. Each-way claims.
20:30 Goodwood
–Mortitia 16/1
Filly returns to the course and distance of her juvenile win
two summers ago after a bright effort against the odds in strong conditions
company over further. Rider’s 7lb claim will be a help as she tries to add
to her achievements.
20:40 Bath – Miss
Complex
Late start for this sprint-bred filly who has shown promise
on the home gallops. A good start will be essential if she is not to be crowded
from her rails position.
21:00 Goodwood –
Crimson Cheer
Daughter of Van Nistelrooy has not been competitive in her
two starts to date, but hopes for a significant improvement may be
assisted by first-time blinkers.

19:45 Doncaster - Indian
Jack 7/2
Indian Jack has a
chance to book himself a place in the Hunt Cup field by winning at Doncaster on
Friday night. Anything less than a win probably won’t get him in, but he’d have
gone very close at Haydock last time but for suffering trouble in running and
hopefully he’ll keep out of trouble on Doncaster’s more galloping track. This
race will be one of his last at the Hunt Cup trip as after that race, if he
makes the cut, he’ll be tried over 1m2f; if he runs poorly at Doncaster we’ll
probably forget about Ascot and step him up in trip straight away.

14:55 Market Rasen –
South Stack 4/1
South Stack
has top weight due to the fact that he has won two races since joining us; it
will be interesting to see if the extra 3 furlongs will help but he is well and
in great heart and today we will find out if he has improved.
16:40 Market Rasen –
North Stack 9/2
North Stack's
race is competitive and he will of course run well and should be placed again.
I wonder what the weather holds for us in Lincolnshire today?
