20/04/24 3:35 Ayr - The Scottish National System

1st Iron Bridge 25/1 - 50

2nd Beauport 16/1 - 45

3rd Anglers Crag 9/1 - 40

Its a very tight contest here as expect but Iron Bridge did stand out with his stats a bit so i would hope for a big run. His recent form has a few question marks but i think you can look through that a bit. He has clocked a 2nd in the Welsh National so we know that Marathon distances are fine for him. His last run he pulled up but that was very testing ground and over 4m 2f, and the other PU was over 2m 4f which is unsuitable for this out and out stayer. The soft ground is more suitbale than very heavy testing ground. His stats on soft are 1, 1, 1, 2, 2. Including the Welsh National, Interestingly his form on a flat track is 1, 1, 1, 1, 3. He could run a big race here. A lot in his favour

Beauport won the Midlands National that Iron Bridge pulled up, so that ticks a lot of boxes, he stays all day and if it rains he will not mind. My only concern is that the more of a test it is the better and he has never won on a flat track. his Midlands National win gives him claims here. He comes in not carrying top weight because Stay Away Fay has that burden, so we know he will be staying on at the end.

Anglers Crag won the Eider so another horse who stays all day and that day it was a mudbath too. He keeps improving and has gone up 28lb since December. His for says he is probably better right handed and a slightly more testing course but thats not a huge negative. If he finds his Eider form he has claims.

My Selction: Iron Bridge 25/1
