1st Walk In The Mill 5/1 - 80

2nd Ramses De Teillee 8/1 - 50

3rd Vieux Lion Rouge 14/1 - 45

4th Minellacelebration 14/1 - 40

No surprise that Walk In The Mill is top here. He has won this race twice from 2 attempts and was 4th in lasts years National. He loves it here and it shows, plus both race wins were on soft. He is 8lb higher than last years win. His trainer hasnt been in bad form, but on course form Walk In The Mill sets the standard.

Ramses De Teillee pulled up in last years National but it was 3 out, but before that had jumped ok, it was just too far. So this drop back in distance for this race over the fences could be ideal. He is up 4lb for his last run where he won by a short head to Yala Enki, so has to produce a career best. He is Tom Scudamores selection, so probably the preferred runner of the yard

Vieux Lion Rouge is from the same yard as Ramses De Teillee.  He won this race in 2016 off 2lb higher. In fact his stats in this race is 1, 7, 2, 9. he is 5lb lower than when 9th here last year. One thing i did notice is that his 1st and 2nd in the race, all came on his seasonal debut, the other 2 he had, had a run and he has had a run already this season. But what we do know is that he runs ok here and jumps well. He could be thereabouts.

Minellacelebration came 10th in this last year, and is now 13lb higher, but he has won his last 2 races,so he could go well again. Ground and distance is fine

Now as usual i do warn people that because of these fences anything can happen. Sometimes its wise to look out for a horse running the first time over these fences, as these fences can revitalise horses, or they hate it. This system has found horses that like the course.

My Selection: Walk In The Mill 5/1
