04/01/19 2:25 Sandown - System
1st Fiddlerontheroof 2/1 - 85
2nd Son Of Camas 11/4 - 65
3rd Logan Rocks 100/1 - 45
4th Hang In There 3/1 - 40
Not the kind of system i like as im not sure it gives a true reflection. There are not too many stats and i dont think it gives a great guide on the race, however i do believe the winner will be one of the first 2 here. And i wouldnt put you off a RFC or SFC.
Fiddlerontheroof does set the standard, so rightly should be at the top, he is a C&D winner, so will score more as thats a big bonus. That was his last race where it was heavy. The horse he beat that day Arrivederci runs in the 3:50 at Wincanton the same day, so if this wins then maybe worth a little bet on him too. Anyway i digress, there have been 2 runners from that race sinceand both have ran very poorly again. His form from Chepstow though is very solid, as was 2nd to Thyme Hill who has since won a grade 1 himself. The going will be fine and although i think he may need stepping up in distance, he will go close!
Son Of Camas has only run 3 times the firt time i think you can ignore, and has since done all that has been asked of him. He has to step up big time, but his time from his last race, does suggest he is capable, The 2nd horse has since won and the 3rd has placed, still not as good as Fiddlerontheroof. Distance is fine and so is the going. He is held in high regard too so he should go very well, the question is, can he beat Fiddlerontheroof? Stats do not tell us much on that front, apart from speed, which i cannot ignore.
Logan Rocks scored well because he has a bit of form, and he will like the soft ground and the distance is fine. He also needs to step up on what his done, but where as SOC has only run 3 races, LR has run 7 and is more exposed.
Hang In There scored next and i would expect he would be the main danger to the first 2. He won a Grade 2 last time out, but so far one has run and still hasnt won a Class 2, which is a worry to how good that Grade 2 was. He will like the going and the trip and will run well.
I will stick to my system, but i do worry about the speeds of Son Of Camas.
My Selection: Fiddlerontheroof 2/1
