06/01/18 3:00 Sandown - System

1st Loose Chips 22/1 - 90
2nd Cloudy Too 7/1 - 60
3rd Buywise 16/1 - 45

Very tight race this as you would expect with these Veterans.

Loose Chips has never won above a handicap mark of 138, so this will be harder for him at 2lb higher, luckily they have a good jockey on board who claims 5lb, which will help. He won a Veterens race race in April by a head on good ground, but i suspect he actually wants it a bit softer. His heavy ground stats are 1, 2, 1, UR. On soft he has raced 18 times, never being out the places in 10 of them. At 3 miles his stats are  1, PU, 2, 2, 6, 2, 1, 2, 1, 3, 2, 1, soyou see, he will like the going, he will like the distance, he loves the course with stats of 9, 2, 1, 2, 1, 7, 3, 2, 3. in 3mile chases around Sandown he is 2, 1, 3, 2. If he feels inclined to, he could go close at a very big price.

Cloudy Too is 8lb higher than his last win, and i think he is finding life hard. His stats on heavy ground though are  1, 1, 3, 1, 3, 3. So he will run his heart out, and i wouldnt be shocked to see him in the top 3. He came 3rd, albeit betaen 30L last time out when on heavy over 1f 1/2f longer than today. He has been dropped 2lb by the handicapper, so he is starting to ease in the weights.

Buywise hasn't won over fences since Feb 2014 off 4lb lower than today and 5f shorter. He has never won at 3 miles, although has placed, and won at half a furlong less than today. He is a 3 time winner on heavy and he will like the track. He is one of the younger boys, but i think it depends on his frame of mind if he will be there at the finish or not. I do think he would probably prefer good ground, but he seems to come alive during the first 2 months of the year.

My Selection: Loose Chips 22/1
