I wanted to point a horse out today
6:40 Kempton - Clarice 16/1
i took a note of her last time, even though she came 5th out of 6 runners. The reason i took note is because of the way she ran the race and her style. She was obviously showing a bit of greeness, but what really made me look is the way she carried her head, she had a low head carriage.
A low head carriage could mean a few things, but my theory was that she was hating the kick back at Southwell. Some horses do not mind however some hate it there. Most winners at Southwell are ridden up with the pace. And she was behind the leaders.
If my theory is correct, she could get on a lot better at Kempton, and at 16/1 is a nice price. My only worry would be is i think she would be better at a mile in time. However she is well bred and may come on a lot for her last run.
Other reasons for a low head carriage is a problem with the tack, especially the bit, or it's a way of the horse trying to balance themselves. Or the last reason is sheer determination. But Sir Mark Prescott would of learned a lot from her first run, and more importantly so would she.
I am not saying she will win, i am just pointing out that i wouldn't be surprised if she does a lot better today
