Now this is the first system for a long time that i know its not right. Aso is not in the league of the others (although rated 1lb higher than Footpad). The reason he scored high is firstly for the form the yard is brilliant - a massive 50% strike rate and the jockey is on 45%. He has never won at 3m but ran really well after a big break at Wetherby to come 3rd in a Grade 2 on soft ground. I do think the stable form has propelled him up there. Ground is fine

Cyrname scored well out fo the 2 main rivals, but he is unproven at this distance so far, he is however 2/2 at Kempton, the ground will suit too.

Lostintranslation weill enjoy the going and the track should suit, he has proven stamina as well. He beat Bristol De Mai which is great form.

Clan Des Obeaux could run a great race, ticks a lot of boxes and was beaten by a very nice horse in Ireland - Road To Respect, who has come 4th in a Gold Cup on his season debut, he also won this last year, could be under the radar here. Also beat Thistlecrack in this last year. I wouldnt dismiss him at all.

Thistlecrack ran a great race over hurdles last time out, he won this race in 2016, and although it had the likes of Cue Card and Silviniaco Conti, they were at the end of thier careers and were not the same. Think he is a better hurdler. Obviously thats a personal opinion and no relevence here. Stats say he stays, he goes well here and the going isnt an issue.

Im going against Aso as its only paying 2 places and im not sure he will beat 3 of them home. He may be lucky. I will go with the 2nd name there Clan Des Obeaux, as i think he is more solid than Thistlecrack

It does contain 2 previous winners of the race and after doing the system, i will conceed that Corach Rambler has a massive chance to follow up here, however we all saw the effort he put in at Cheltenham, it blew me away and it was well reported exactly how tired he was after the race. That worries me as it wasnt that long ago, althougth everything points to another very good run.
