  1st Jagwar 7/2 - 65 2nd Colonel Harry 8/1 - 50 2nd Il Ridoto 12/1 - 50   Jagwar is the only runner coming back from a break and making his seasonal debut here, so wont be easy off 12st, although he is a big horse. He is 2/2 over C&D, he will love the ground also, he has every chance, if fit enough, he is on his highest career mark. Colonel Harry is another on his highest career mark which won't make it easy. Going and distance is fine, although i do have a worry about Cheltenham, his stats suggest it should suit him however, he is a 6th and a fell here, the 6th was in Turners though so not too bad. That would be my only worry here, he is against a course specialist, he would have to be at the top of his game.  Il Ridoto was 6th in this last year and is 8lb lower this year,  and was 2nd in this in 2023 and is now 2lb lower, so i dont think you could rule him out, he will like the ground and the trip, he has ran over C&D 8 times placed in 4 and won one.   1st L'homme Presse 4/1 - 75 2nd Gowel Road 11/1 - 45   3 drew on 40 - Henrys Friend, The Doyen Chief and King Turgeon. L'homme Presse just stood out here, however he is giving a minimum of 16lb to his nearest rival, and he is back from 300 days off the track. Thats a massive concern. Ground is perfect, and distance should suit, his stats at Cheltenham are 1, 1, 4, 1. The 4th was in the Gold Cup, so you can see why he is the one to beat.  Gowel Road has placed at Cheltenham 7 times and one of those was a win, in 12 attempts, he will enjoy the going, distance should be fine. However, he has only run over fences twice, and not at Cheltenham, im not sure why, they probably see him as a better hurdler, he is 4, 1. over fences. So possibly has the potential to go well.
